Brett Johnson

Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Brett Johnson enlisted in the Army on Sept. 29, 1998, from Houston, Texas. After successful completion of Infantry One Station Unit Training, Basic Airborne Course and the Regimental Assessment and Selection Program 1 at Fort Benning (Ft. Moore), he was assigned to 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. CSM Johnson has served in every enlisted leadership position from Team Leader through Command Sergeant Major. CSM Johnson's previous assignments include 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Regimental Special Troops Battalion, Senior Enlisted Advisor to the J7 at the Joint Special Operations Command, 3rd Ranger Battalion CSM, the 75th Ranger Regiment Intelligence Battalion CSM, Garrison CSM Fort Moore, GA, the CSM for the 75th Ranger Regiment and currently the 10th MTN Division CSM. CSM Johnson has completed all levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Education System including the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, the Joint Special Operations Forces Senior Enlisted Academy, The Summit Course, the Combined/Joint Special Operations Forces Component Commanders Course, and the Nominative Leaders Course. His additional schools include the Basic Airborne Course, U.S. Army Ranger Course, Jumpmaster Course, Joint Military Free Fall Course, and Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (Level C). CSM Johnson has deployed 19 times in support of the Global War on Terrorism. His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit (2OLC), seven Bronze Star Medals, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, three Meritorious Service Medals, a Joint Service Commendation Medal with "V" device, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal with "V" Device, five Army Commendation Medals, seven Army Achievement Medals, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Expert Infantryman's Badge, Ranger Tab, Master Parachutist Badge, Military Free Fall Parachutist Badge, and he is a member of the Order of Saint Maurice, St. Michael, and Knowlton Awards. CSM Johnson is married to the former Candice Godwin of Savannah, Georgia and they have two sons, Kevin and Tyler.
