Javier Delgado
My name is Javier Delgado, and I was born in Venezuela and migrated to the United States at the age of 10. From a young age, I knew that I wanted to serve in the military that welcomed my family and me with open arms. I enlisted in the Army out of Atlanta, Georgia, in August 2014 and was assigned to TF 1-28 in Fort Benning, Georgia, where I would continually see the Rangers of 3rd Battalion wearing cool uniforms and driving even cooler vehicles. I took a stab at RASP in 2018 and was assigned to 3rd Ranger Battalion shortly after, where I have served for over 7 years.
Within the last year, I decided to pursue my degree at the University of Charleston, largely in part due to the big push on education from Regiment. After beginning classes, I realized that I wanted to continue to serve Ranger Regiment in a different capacity- as a Commissioned Officer. Since then, I have chipped away at the requirements for OCS.
It is thanks to organizations like the Lead The Way Fund and its selfless donors that Rangers such as myself can pursue dreams that transcend the military. Our education, enabled by you all, will aid us well after we have finished serving.
